Lisa Bozikovic (she/her)
Community Artist & Musician
Lisa Bozikovic is a Prince Edward County based critically acclaimed singer songwriter, community engaged artist and trauma informed social worker who loves to encourage people of all ages and abilities to nurture their intrinsic creative resources. Over the past decade, Lisa has worked as a lead artist for community arts organizations such as Jumblies Theatre and Arts4All, composing and facilitating a variety of musical and inter-arts collaborations within community health centres, schools, public parks, and a women’s federal prison.
Her community arts highlights include: founding The Davenport Songbook- a community engaged song writing project featured on CBC’s the Doc Project; musical direction for the Dora nominated production “What Dream It was”- a multi-sensory installation made by and for people of mixed abilities; and musical direction for the AMY project, where she supported young women and non-binary youth to write and perform their own production in the Summerworks festival. Lisa has also worked in elementary schools across Ontario as part of the Ontario Arts Council Artists in Residence (Education) program.
In her work as a singer songwriter, Lisa Bozikovic “maps out introspective narratives with evocative turns of phrase, then uses her nuanced delivery to magnify each emotional dip and swerve” (Sarah Liss, CBC News.ca). In her current private practice as a trauma informed social worker, Lisa incorporates music and songwriting whenever it fits, and believes full heartedly in the transformative power of artistic expression.
